Good Morning Stampers! My oldest daughter, Caroline, is graduating from high school in just a few short weeks. I've been preoccupied lately with designing and creating her graduation party invitations. The invites are going in the mail today, so I wanted to share the project I've been working on. I must admit that I'm feeling proud of what I've created and even more proud of my daughter. She has grown up way too fast. It's a myriad of bitter sweet emotions. I'm excited as she gets ready to spread her wings and embark on a new adventure in her life; and I'm sad because I'll miss her presence, her smile and her sense of humor on a daily basis. She'll be heading off to college in mid-August. Okay, enough sad talk, she'll be around all summer!!
I made Caroline's invitation in her school colors--Green and Gold--or should I say Garden Green and Summer Sun! This type of card is called a Gate Fold Card. Click here to find out how to make one. I did alter the measurements, so let me know if you need further assistance.
Happy Grad Card Recipe
Stamp Sets: Happy Grad, Go Graduate (Summer Mini)
Ink: Garden Green
Paper: Garden Green, Summer Sun, Whisper White, Vellum
Embellishments: Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon
Adhesives: SNAIL, Stampin' Dimesionals
Punches: Star, Large Star, Double Rectangle
Sizzix Big Shot: Stampin' Up! Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#115963)
Note: Pictured below is the inside of the card. I printed the invitation on Vellum, attached it to Whisper White paper, and used the double rectangle punch to hold the Whisper White and Vellum together with the Organza ribbon. I attached her senior picture onto Whisper White paper, so that you could see it through the Vellum. That's my favorite part!!
