O Christmas Tree Card Recipe

 

 

Stamp Set:  Contempo Christmas (wood mount #118734, clear mount #120594)

Ink:  Cherry Cobbler

Paper:  Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler

Fabric:  Deck the Halls (#121716)

Embellishments:  Linen Thread, Candy Cane Buttons (#121718)

Adhesives:  Snail, Mini Glue Dots, Sticky Strip

Punches:  Modern Label. 3/4" Square

Big Shot:  Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die (#120893), Movers & Shapers Bigz L Die (#114506) Punch Windows

 

Tips & Tools

• Cut out a triangle that fits onto the card base of 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  Make sure you have enough room for the "tree trunk". 
• Cut Deck the Halls fabric in 12" strips, lay on the scallop trim of the Tasteful Trim die and roll through the Big Shot.  Attach Sticky Strip to the triangle.  Layer scalloped pieces on the triangle pattern starting at the bottom of the triangle.  Trim off excess fabric on the ends.
• Use the Movers & Shapers die and the Modern Label Punch Window to create the Cherry Cobbler Label underneath the sentiment layer.

Fall Decor Blocks

Good Morning Stampers!  I have been dying to use Stampin' Up!'s Decor Blocks/package of 4 (#116829) which are featured in the 2010 Definitely Decorative Brochure.  It's just another fabulous product line that Stampin' Up! offers its customers.  The Decor Blocks (natural wood 3" blocks) are perfect for crafting with paint, Decor Elements, Designer Series Paper (which is what I've used), and other embellishments. You can dress up a mantel, entry table, or bookcase in your living room, bedroom, nursery, or office. What a fun project!!  Give it a try!

Tips & Tools:

• Use Cajun Craze, More Mustard, and Olive Olive Card Stock to die cut the letters. Then, tuck the letters inside the Square Lattice Folder and run through the Big Shot for a 3D effect.
• Definitely use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the designer paper to the wood blocks.  Works very well!!

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday!  I was working on my Be Creative Newsletter today.  I've also been "catching up" on a myriad of "to do" lists!  I bet you know what I'm talking about--life! Just a reminder to join my Be Creative Christmas Newsletter on the left side of my blog. Beginning on Black Friday, I'll be posting a holiday craft and/or idea to help get you in the Christmas spirit! I'm looking forward to it and I hope you are, too!

I seem to have birthdays on my mind, especially since we celebrated two yesterday!  The girls had so many phone calls, cards, and other expressions of love and birthday thoughts.  I think they had a wonderful day. Their birthday reminded me of a Birthday Stamping Party for a 4th grader just a few weeks ago.  You may remember my post on a birthday invitation that I had made. Pictured below, you can see a cupcake thank you card that resembles a gift. When you pull the top off, you can write your thank you note!  You gotta LOVE this paper!!  It's call Celebrations Designer Paper (#117164).  You can also find coordinating items in the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catty on pages 176-177.

 

Here's the ensemble that I created.  The invitation is on the right and the Cupcake Thank You is on the left.  In the middle, you'll see one of the crafts we did.  We decorated a paint can with designer paper, added pennant, and the girls could stamp their name on it.  We also used the Time to Celebrate Jumbo Wheel  (#112477) and rolled it across tissue paper which is inside the tin.

Sweet 16--Headed to the Birthday Bakery!

There are TWO Sweet 16 Birthdays in our house today!  I want to wish our Twin Daughters, Jacqueline and Andrea, a very special Sweet 16 Birthday today.  Happy Birthday My Sweethearts!  We plan to celebrate this evening with dinner, cake, and presents.  I used the Level One Hostess stamp set, Birthday Bakery. I just LOVE it and I think the girls will, too.
