Here's my Father's Day Gift Card Holder! This project was inspired by my dear Stampin' Up! buddy and fellow demonstrator, Liz! Thanks so much for the inspiration! All I have to do now...purchase gift cards! Hope this tutorial will inspire you to create something handmade for the men in your life!
Stamp Sets: The Open Sea (wood mount #123030, clear mount #123032), Something to Celebrate (Level 2 Hostess Set, Occasions Mini Jan.-April 2011)
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper (#122343)
Embellishments: 16" Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (#119959)
Adhesive: SNAIL, Mini Glue Dots, Sticky Strip
Punches: Spiral (Retiring, #119872)
Begin with a sheet of Not Quite Navy cardstock and cut 8 1/2" x 9 1/2".
Score at 4 1/4" on the 8 1/2" side.
Creating the cover:
Cut a sheet of Whisper White cardstock 9 1/4" x 4".
Cut designer paper 9 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Wrap the Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon around the folder.
Layer cardstock and designer paper
and adhere to front cover with SNAIL.
Inside Gift Card Holder:
Cut designer paper 9 1/8" x 4".
Open the gift card holder and adhere the designer paper to left side using Snail.
Cut Whisper White cardstock 9 1/8" x 2 5/8".
Using the Spiral Punch (retiring!), punch one side of the paper.
Stamp on the bottom left corner.
Adhere Whisper White cardstock diagonally.
Attach Early Espresso ribbon with a mini glue dot.
Creating your gift card "holders".
Using Crumb Cake cardstock, cut three pieces 4" x 4 1/4".
Score at 1 3/4" along the 4 1/4" side of cardstock.
NOTE: Stamp the outside of the "holders" before using adhesive.
Scroll down to see how I stamped each gift card holder.
Fold along score line.
Attach Sticky Strip to the inside of the "holders"
(as shown in picture below).
Using The Open Sea Stamp Set, ink the ships log in Crumb Cake and stamp a background on all 3 "holders".
Ink the various stamps in Early Espresso, and stamp the desired images on the 3 "holders".
Using Sticky Strip adhesive,
Attach the gift card holders to the inside right side of the project.
