Paper Doily Die

Stampin' Up! has a NEW DIE in town--the Paper Doily Sizzlits Die (#125592)! In case you haven't seen it, here's a Stampin' Up! video that tells you more about it!

 

Here are a few tips and tricks for using the

New Paper Doily Sizzlits Die:

• Because of variations in materials, you'll most likely need to use a shime (such as a piece of card stock) when you send it through the Big Shot.
• The detailed intricacy comes with a little added work.  The negative pieces will not come out automatically when you cut the die.
• You can remove the pieces from the back of the doily by working from the front.  Use a Paper-Piercing Tool or the small end of the Simply Scored Stylus.
• One last thing to remember:  Because of the intricate design of the die, small pieces might stick in the foam on the actual die.  Clear all small pieces from the die (using the Paper Piercing Tool) before using it again.  Be careful not to tear the foam.

The second card was inspired by Robin Merriman's card.  The colors used are Cherry Cobbler and Blushing Bride!

Several customers have asked about taking the Be My Valentine Class by mail.  That's fine!  I'm including a paypal button, so you can purchase the class.  Please note that there will be a $5 charge for shipping.  As per Stampin' Up!'s guidelines, I'm not allowed to stamp any images in the kit.  I used the P.S. Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference

Wow!  I'm back from Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference and it was absolutely amazing!  I do apologize for not posting during my stay in San Antonio.  Wi-fi at the Grand Hyatt was $12.95 a day!!  I'd rather spend that on stamps and supplies!  I'll post a few pictures each day, so that you can get an idea of what Leadership was like! We began the first day of leadership with a Stampin' Up! welcome sign in our hotel lobby!  I'm standing with Martha, my upline.

Of course, the anticipation of any Stampin' Up! event is the "bag"!  Here's my upline, Martha, showing off our new Leadership tote.  You will see this fabric again in the 2012-2013 Idea Book & Catalog!  Isn't it gorgeous?

When we went to Make & Takes, this adorable note pad holder was waiting for each of us at the table!! 

Shelli, our co-founder and CEO, signed each gift tag!  I'm sure this name tag design will be a part of My Digital Studio in the months to come.

Did I mention the chocolates?  That's important! One of Stampin' Up!'s employees made each of us (all 1400 in attendance) a white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate bars!  These wonderful sweets were tucked inside this embellished Big Shot Fancy Favor box!

Speaking of Make & Takes--We were given 10 projects to stamp and create!  Several are 3 dimensional, so we assembled all the embellishements and brought home the unassembled boxes, so they wouldn't get smooshed!  I'll be showing these projects throughout the week.  We used the Mixed Bunch stamp set to make 2 of the card pictured below--one to take home and one for the Ronald McDonald House. 

Did I mention all the FREE product we received?...stamp sets, basic jewels, basic pearls, large pearls, 3 spools of ribbon, bakers twine, buttons, MDS content CD, markers, catalogs, Everyday Enchantment DP and Fresh Vintage stamp set!  Also, a brand NEW stamp set coming out in the 2012-2013 Idea Book & Catalog, but I'm not allowed to show yet.

Leadership Stamping Competition

For the first time at Leadership, Stampin' Up! is having a Stamping Competition!  Demonstrators simply make cards and/or scrapbook pages using products from the 2012 Occasions Mini and just drop them in the swap basket at Leadership.  Winners will be announced on Friday, January 20th, and receive a free stamp set from the 2012 Occasions Mini!  Here's one of the cards that I've decided to enter...

Stampin' Up! Leadership Card Swap

Here's my Leadership Swap!  I decided to use a few Sale-A-Bration products that you can get absolutely FREE!  The Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (wood mount #125115, clear mount #125117) and Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (#126154) are just two of the free products that will be available beginning next Tuesday, January 24th!!  I also incorporated our new Edgelits Dies--Adorning Accents (#125595), Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, and Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die.  I stamped the images in Calypso Coral and then, I tucked the paper in the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot.

Stampin' Up! Leadership Pillow Gifts

I'm on my way to...San Antonio today for Leadership Conference!  Here's my Leadershp Pillow Gifts.  We always make thoughtful little pillow gifts for those of us attending within our downline.  I made gift card holders using the Framelits Dies--Labels Collection and the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set.  I embellished it with Pool Party Seam Binding and a few Sale-A-Bration products (designer paper & brad)! I tucked a Starbuck's gift card inside because we usually find a Starbuck's somewhere around the hotel or convention center!  Lots of fun and I think they'll like it!  This gift card holder could easily be a standard size card.
