The Kissing Technique

Have you ever heard of the Kissing Technique? We're not talking about the technique with your sweetie—we're talking about the one with stamps! Here's a recent video created by Emily Montoya at Stampin' Up!  She demonstrates the Kissing Technique used in Rubber Stamping!

  

Check out this sample featured in this video, see how the butterflies have an extra texture? It's the beautiful product of two stamps getting together! Here's another sample, see how the hearts have the crisscross design?

It's so easy, here's how you do it...(We're using clear mount because it's a little easier to see.) You will need one bold image and one patterned image. Ink up the bold image and then "kiss" the un-inked patterned stamp to the bold ink image. The un-inked stamp will pick up some of the color leaving you with a delightful texture.

Pinwheel Graduation Card

Today is a very special day in our house filled with mixed emotions.  Our twin daughters will graduate from high school!  Wow!  What a milestone in their lives...and ours, too!  It seems that only yesterday I put them on the big yellow school bus to head to kindergarten.  Everyone tells you how fast the time will go; and it really does have a way of slipping by. 

I thought you would like to see a graduation card I made recently.  Just love the soda pop top in the center of this 6" square pinwheel.  It's so much fun to incorporate these embellishements into a card...just wish Stampin' Up! had included them in the new catalog.

Clockworks Stamp Set

Here's the second project that we'll be making in Hostess Club this month!  It's a Father's Day card using the Clockworks Stamp Set (wood #131973, clear #127292) located on page 109 in the new catty.  This stamp set works beautifully for masculine birthdays, too!  The following ink colors were used...Pool Party, Gumball Green, Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral, and basic gray!

The following punches coordinate perfectly...1/2" circle, 3/4" circle, 1" circle, 1 1/4" circle punches!

Many of you have asked me for the Dessert Pizza Recipe that was pictured in last Friday's post...

1 pkg. (18 oz.) refrigerated sugar cookie dough

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese

1/3 cup sugar

Assorted fruits:  sliced strawberries, sliced kiwi, and blueberries

Preheat over to 375 degrees.  Cut cookie dough into 1/4" slices.  Arrange cookie slices slightly overlapping on a disposable aluminum pizza pan.  Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.  Let cool. 

Combine cream cheese and sugar, mixing until well blended.  Spread over cooled crust.  Arrange fruit on cream cheese mixture.  Chill and serve.  Cut into slices or wedges with pizza cutter!
